Corey constructed for me a new recess in between my pantry and study to fit a new larger and plumbed in fridge, and a recessed book case, floor to ceiling where the old fridge had previously been. There were no plans just my thoughts and measurements of the new fridge which hadn’t been delivered yet.

The job involved measuring, deconstruction of walls, lining, ceiling and skirting, the building of new walls and relining and re-skirting and edging all in areas that had moved in the earthquake and were not square.

At the time there was a scarcity of gib board but Corey was thinking well ahead from early in the job to make sure materials were available or ordered well before being required.

I noticed how solid the built wall structure was and the recess was reinforced to accommodate shelves later. The finishing was neat and tidy and he was able to source a good plasterer.

Corey also shaped and numbered the thick scaffold planks I had sourced for shelves ready for me to paint and finish as I wished.

I found Corey pleasant, friendly and courteous, he worked unobtrusively at a good pace, his interpretation of my thoughts were on point and his workmanship was excellent. On top of that he was neat and tidy, vacuuming up after each session.
